Coder of Professional Physician Services
This role is responsible for coding the professional component for both inpatient and outpatient claims. Services include physician visits, consultation services, ancillary department services such as cardiopulmonary, radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and surgery. This individual must be proficient in diagnostic coding (ICD–9) and procedural coding (CPT). This is a full-time position working primarily 8-hour day shifts Monday - Friday.
Minimum Qualifications:
CPC or CCS-P Certification required.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a physician coder required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in ICD-9 & CPT coding required.
Familiarity with Correct Coding Initiative Edits, National and Local Coverage Determinations required.
Proficiency in Internet usage of CMS sites and other coding sites required.
Must be able to access reports in the electronic medical record and be familiar with Encoder, Code Correct, and other billing system.
